| Combat Patrol - A two player, card-driven game of single man-to-man combat on the Western Front during World War Two. Each player controls a squad of soldiers from Germany, the United States, Britain or the French Resistance. Randomly drawn cards from a prepared deck determine which player will activate a soldier. Individual soldiers are activated by a player playing a card from their hand. When a soldier is activated they may move, fire a weapon, throw a grenade, ready themselves for an action later in the turn or perform a special action. Soldier's who have not already taken an action during the turn may attempt to interrupt an enemy's action. Each player's squad will have a leader, usually a sergeant, but could be another rank. The leader of the squad is very important as it is his Command Rating that determines many of the options a player has during the game. Each turn in Combat Patrol represents 10 to 30 seconds of time and each hexagonal area on the game boards is 2-3 meters. Multiple scenarios present players with a different tactical situation and challenge with a set of victory conditions they need to achieve to win the game. A scenario may have random victory conditions so scenarios never play the same way twice. |
